A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Bridge Theatre Review

Created by Nicholas Hytner the director behind last years hit Julius Caesar comes a unique interpretation of this timeless classic. Refreshing in almost every aspect from set design, mesmerizing aerial acrobatics to immersive audience Hytner reimagines the experience for XXI century world. With conscious character gender changes and skilful play on stereotypes the play touches upon important social issues of freedom, sexuality and self-expression.

Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Oliver Chris (Green Wing), David Moorst (Allelujah!) and Hammed Animashaun (The Festival) will delight you with show stopping acting performances while accompanied by Bunny Christie’s enchanting creations.

The show is an absolute feast for the eyes and National Theatre at Home brings it even closer to us streaming it on their YouTube channel (for free). As much as I would recommend everyone to go see it in real live as there is nothing quite like it I am most thankful to NT for bringing A Midsummer Nights Dream to everyone’s homes. Enjoy!
